Giving Tuesday is a global generosity movement that occurs each year on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving. It is an opportunity for individuals, communities and organizations to come together to inspire transformative change.
Across northwest North Carolina, the YMCA is working to strengthen communities so that all people have the opportunity to live, grow and thrive. Many people associate the Y with a swimming pool, treadmills or even a place to enjoy a cup of coffee. But the true power of the Y isn’t found within four walls. The Y is in the hearts and actions of every neighbor who believes in our vision of a better “us” and a stronger community for all.
Your donation to the Y will make a difference!
- $75 teaches a child in Safety Around Water lifesaving skills that keeps them safe in and around water.
- $140 provides a kid in our Bright Beginnings program with the clothing, shoes, supplies and confidence they need to begin their academic year on the right foot.
- $300 gives a student a safe environment to complete homework and play in our Before and After School Academy for a month.
- $360 allows a teen in Reaching Our Potential with access to the safe, positive and healthy environment Y facilities provide, for a year.
- $420 gives a senior a yearlong membership to the Y, where they can focus on their health and grow connections with others.
- $1,000 supports 2 cancer survivors in our LIVESTRONG® program.
